Ethics
The major part of Thirukkural deals with morals. Literature was chosen as the best instrument to teach morals. The poetic works Naladiar, Nanmanikkadikai, Elathi, Sirupancamulam, Athiccudi, Konr aiventhan, etc., are very popular in Tamil Nadu. Many memorize the verses of these works.
